Prayer for strength during difficult times
Heavenly Father,
I come before you today with a spirit weary and worn, seeking your divine infusion of strength. In the midst of my life’s trials and challenges, I feel the weight of these burdens pressing down upon me. Your word in Isaiah 40:31 assures me that ‘those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’ Lord, I place my hope in you, trusting in your promise to sustain and uplift me in times of weakness.
Grant me the resilience to persevere in the face of adversity, knowing that ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ as in Philippians 4:13. Strengthen my resolve, fortify my faith, and embolden my spirit to face whatever challenges lie ahead.
Lord, you are my rock and my fortress, my shield and my stronghold. As it says in Psalm 18:2, ‘The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.’ May I find refuge in your unfailing presence, drawing strength from your mighty power.
When I am weak, remind me that your grace is sufficient for me, for your power is made perfect in weakness as in 2 Corinthians 12:9. Help me to surrender my weaknesses to you, trusting that in my vulnerability, your strength is magnified.
In the name of Jesus, I claim the strength that is found in you alone. Fill me with your Spirit, renewing my innermost being and empowering me to walk in victory.

Heavenly Father,
I come before you today with a heart filled with both gratitude and need. In the midst of my life’s trials and uncertainties, I seek your divine presence and provision. Your word in Isaiah 41:10 assures us, ‘So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.’ Lord, I cling to this promise, trusting in your unwavering strength and steadfast presence.
Grant me the strength to face the challenges before me, knowing that you are my refuge and my fortress. Your word in Psalm 46:1 reminds me that ‘God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.’ May I find refuge in you, drawing upon your strength to persevere through every trial and tribulation.
Fill me with hope, Lord, even amid darkness and despair. Your word in Romans 15:13 proclaims, ‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’ May your Spirit fill me with a steadfast hope that transcends all circumstances, anchoring my soul in the assurance of your promises.
Help me to fix my eyes on you, Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith as in Hebrews 12:2, knowing that in you, I find the source of true strength and enduring hope. May my trust in you deepen with each passing moment, as I surrender my fears and anxieties into your loving care.
In the name of Jesus, I receive your strength and hope afresh today. May I walk in confidence and assurance, knowing that you are with me always, guiding me through every storm and leading me into the brightness of your presence.

Heavenly Father,
I come before you today with a heart open to your guidance and a spirit in need of your strength. In the midst of my life’s complexities and uncertainties, I seek your wisdom to navigate the path before me. Your word in Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.’ Lord, I submit my plans and desires to you, trusting in your guidance to lead me in the way I should go.
Grant me the strength to face the challenges and decisions that lie ahead. Your word in Isaiah 40:29 assures us, ‘He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.’ May your strength be made perfect in my weakness, empowering me to overcome obstacles and persevere in faith.
Guide my steps, O Lord, and illuminate my path with your light. Your word in Psalm 119:105 declares, ‘Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.’ May your Word be my constant companion, leading me forward with clarity and purpose.
Help me to discern your will and to follow your lead in every area of my life. Your word in James 1:5 promises, ‘If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.’ Lord, I ask for wisdom, knowing that you generously give to those who seek you.
In the name of Jesus, I receive your strength and guidance for the journey ahead. May I walk in obedience and confidence, trusting in your unfailing love and sovereign care.

Prayer for strength and courage
Heavenly Father,
I come before you today with a heart filled with both need and longing. In the face of these daunting challenges and fearsome obstacles, I seek your divine strength and courage. Your word in Joshua 1:9 assures us, ‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.’ Lord, I cling to this command and promise, trusting in your abiding presence and empowering grace.
Grant me the strength to stand firm in the midst of adversity, knowing that you are my fortress and shield. Your word in Psalm 28:7 proclaims, ‘The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.’ May my trust in you be unwavering, as I draw upon your strength to face every trial and tribulation.
Infuse me with courage, O Lord, to step out in faith and obedience. Your word in 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, ‘For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.’ May your Spirit empower me to overcome fear and doubt, emboldening me to walk in confidence and boldness.
Help me to fix my eyes on you, Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith as in Hebrews 12:2, knowing that in you, I find the source of true strength and unwavering courage. May my reliance on you deepen with each passing moment, as I surrender my weaknesses and insecurities into your mighty hands.
In the name of Jesus, I receive your strength and courage now. May I walk in boldness and resilience, knowing that you are with me always, guiding me through every storm and leading me into the victory of your presence.
